shore指与海洋、江河水面相接的陆地,即“海岸、湖岸”,强调从陆地着眼来说明它与水面的衔接,一般前面不加限定词,但the shores of the lake已经有限定关系,所以可以加the,shores可用复数,有时可以on shore表示“在岸上、在陆地上”,与on land有相同的意思,相对与on the sea。
